It was a rainy but busy Thursday out on the TODAY plaza as fans waited to catch Justin Beiber’s concert. However, our Ambush Makeover duo of TODAY style contributor Jill Martin and celebrity hairstylist Louis Licari were out in full force. While it was tough to pull the "Beliebers" away, they found two deserving ladies who were ready to transform their looks.
For mom Carolane Messina of Delaware, today was the day to trade in her usual boots and britches for heels and jewels. The 44-year-old works as a manager of an equestrian retail store, and after many of years of rocking the same style, she was ready to show off a new look to her husband Chuck.
“My god! Wow!” exclaimed Chuck as he saw his gorgeous wife for the first time after her makeover.
Messina was equally shocked upon her big reveal and immediately cried tears of joy. With her new ‘do, Messina looked spectacular.
For ICU nurse and grad student Andrea Kurkel, a busy schedule leaves her little time for herself. The 28-year-old sticks to scrubs, little make up and ponytails. Her friend Ted from Georgetown University mentioned that even in college she was never one to throw on a dress or heels. Today Kurkel was ready to finally glam it up.
“Oh my god! You look great!” said Ted as he burst into a big smile upon seeing Kurkel. Like Ted, Kurkel couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw herself. In heels and a beautiful dress, it was quite the change from her usual scrubs.
While these two "Beliebers" might have missed the real reason they came to the plaza — Justin Beiber’s TODAY concert — to get their new looks, they left looking like a million bucks thanks to our Ambush Makeover team!
