Redbook magazine has named its top beauty and hair buys of 2014, and we've got the winners for you! Find out which lipstick, nail polish, mascara and other must-have products made the cut:
Best tinted lip balm: Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips
This balm not only has superb moisturizing benefits, but it also comes in the perfect hue of pink. All that, plus an inexpensive price tag, help it land at the top of the list ($2.29).
Best full-coverage lipstick: Bobbi Brown Art Stick
This chunky pencil serves as both a lipstick and a lip liner, so everything you need is in this one tool. It also uses shea butter, leaving those luscious lips feeling plenty smooth ($26).
Best scent for the day: Aerin Ikat Jasmine eau de parfum
“It’s such an uplifting scent: Unlike a lot of florals, this one is fresh, not overpowering,” Birchbox cofounder Katia Beauchamp told Redbook ($110 for 1.7 ounces).
Best neutral polish: Essie Cocktails and Coconuts
This nude-beige color has a hint of sparkle, making it neutral with classy dose of glam ($8.50).
Best mascara: CoverGirl Bombshell Volume by LashBlast Mascara
Finding the right drugstore mascara can seem like an impossible feat, but Redbook is declaring this pink tube the best pick. This mascara has a two-step formula that volumizes lashes, then adds a clump-free, glossy top coat ($9.49).
Best concealer: L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift CC Eye Concealer
With its cooling roller-ball applicator, this eye concealer deflates any puffiness while camouflaging circles and hiding redness. Plus, it dries to a powder finish, so it will stay put all day ($9.99).
Best foundation: YSL Youth Liberator Serum Foundation
“This glided on without settling into pores or fine lines,” makeup artist Gita Bass told Redbook. “It made the skin look dewy and radiant, but not shiny” ($69).
Best hairspray: Living Proof Flex Shaping Hairspray
No need to fear wind gusts: This hairspray will keep your locks in place without leaving any residue behind ($24).
Best exfoliator: Nuance Salma Hayek Age Affirm Glycolic Cream Cleanser
Redbook calls this cleanser the "perfect skin potion." It's a serum that fights lines, fades spots, hydrates and brightens skin, plus it doesn’t irritate ($12.99).
Best anti-aging night cream: RoC Multi Correxion 5 in 1 Restoring Night Cream
“This contains excellent moisturizers and hexylresorcinol, which is believed to help control the inflammation that leads to wrinkles and sagging,” dermatologist Mona Gohara told Redbook, adding that the price ($28.99) is a definite perk.
