Dior sure has a thing for young brunette actresses who starred in "Black Swan" and made movies about friends with benefits. Natalie Portman reps its Miss Dior Cherie fragrance, and now Mila Kunis has been named the new face of the French fashion house.

Kunis stars in the spring/summer 2012 ad campaign toting the Miss Dior bag in the Mikael Jansson-lensed shots. Though we’re huge fans of the actress’s red carpet style, this is definitely a bit of a strange pick for Dior. Kunis is beautiful and stylish, but even she will admit she’s not the most obvious choice for a fashion campaign.

As she told WWD: “I’m honestly just learning about fashion… In my daily life, I don’t wear the most feminine pieces. But I love to feel feminine when I’m on the red carpet. I find that Dior is an incredibly grounded house. I always thought what Dior does is so sophisticated, feminine and beautiful.”

It’s true that Dior has a long-standing history with screen stars — from Christian Dior‘s relationship with old Hollywood icons like Grace Kelly and Liz Taylor to recent campaigns starring Portman and Charlize Theron. Still, we can’t help but think this pairing is a bit off — not to mention that the obvious Kunis/Portman comparisons make the partnership feel stale.
