Olivia Wilde on maternity fashion: 'I am a goddess!'

Proudly pregnant: Olivia Wilde at the 2014 Vanity Fair Oscar, W Magazine celebration of The "Best Performances" Portfolio, the 71st annual Golden Globe Awards, and the premiere of Warner Bros. Pictures "Her".

Can Olivia Wilde get any cuter these days?

The stunning actress, currently expecting with fiancé Jason Sudeikis, recently shared her thoughts on maternity style, and it was, well, adorable. Wilde admitted she had originally thought she would minimize, not flaunt, her growing shape:

“I just thought, oh, I’m going to hide this forever,” she said in an interview with Lucky magazine. “But I ended up getting kind of excited to show the bump, as a badge of pride. Like, I’m a woman! Look at me making a human! I am a goddess!”

The expecting star might be nurturing her inner goddess, but don’t expect any Grecian gowns in her daily wardrobe edit. When not on the red carpet, she prefers a low-key, comfy style, looking to brands such as A.L.C., Rag & Bone, and James Perse.

“My style is never uncomfortable … it’s part of my nature to look a little messy,” said Wilde, citing her earlier style icons such as Bob Marley and Keith Richards. Wilde does, however, have her current fashion inspiration in check: like many of us, she looks to the masters.

“When in doubt, look to the French,” she said of her style evolution, which is now a bit more refined. “For literally everything in life. It’s just minimalism at its best ... I remember thinking, I’m going to go home and buy a bunch of pencil skirts so I can do that. The same thing happened with suspenders. I saw someone in suspenders and I thought, 'Yes! Suspenders are everything!'”

Of course, amid all the maternity closet choices, Wilde is taking the time to savor her pregnancy, and most importantly, bond with baby.

“Pregnancy brings you into this sort of commune — you feel connected to women in a way that you never have.” As for her future baby boy, "He’s moving around in there and no one else can tell — it’s a little secret friendship.”
