As an actress since the age of 4, Melissa Joan Hart is no stranger to public criticism. Like many Hollywood stars, she’s come under scrutiny for everything from choice of roles to her weight — but that's only fueled her to be more open about her life and embrace her "imperfections."

“Not everyone can be Barbie,” she told TODAY Tuesday. “I like a little imperfection; I think it’s important. You have to love some of your flaws.”

The “flaw” she loves the most? Her indented bottom teeth. “My top teeth are perfect, thanks to my dentist, and then my bottom teeth, they keep trying to fix it and I won’t let them,” she revealed. "That’s one I want to keep."

While she may not be worried about her appearance, the mother of three, who spoke with us at the Live Health Online Women Connect to Health Summit in New York City, is nervous about raising teenage boys.

“I’m working with someone right now who is telling me the horrors of her teenage son and what he’s doing, so I’m a little skeptical,” Hart said, reflecting on the future of her 10-year-old son, Mason. “I thought boys were supposed to be difficult when they were young, because let me tell you, my 4-year-old (Tucker) is giving me a lot of gray this year.”

More than dealing with the antics of an adolescent boy, Hart is worried about what will happen when he heads off to college. “I’m more upset about the fact that in six years he will be driving and then he’s gone,” she added. “I’m not ready for it yet and I know it's right around the corner. I’m happy for them to get older to go and be their own men, but I’m so sad about it already in my heart.”

Of course, Hart's coming of age took place on TV — and this week actually marks the 20th anniversary of the first episode of "Sabrina, The Teenage Witch."

“It was seven amazing years of my life,” recalled Hart, now 40. “We had a blast together.” In fact, many of her life’s biggest moments took place during filming. “I met my husband while I was working on that show and got married right after it wrapped," she said. “I made lifelong friends. It was like a frat party every day at work and if you have to be at work at 5 a.m. every day those were the people to do it with.”
