J.Crew fans have a reason to celebrate! The popular trendy, yet traditionally preppy (and sometimes quite pricey) retailer has some good news for your wallet.

The retailer recently launched a value-driven sister brand inspired by the original line. It's the J.Crew looks we love, but at a more affordable price point, a company press release explained. The new brand goes by the name J.Crew Mercantile and is essentially J.Crew Factory brought to more convenient locations for the consumer. Think malls and shopping districts instead of outlet centers.

Last week, J.Crew Mercantile officially opened it's first store in Dallas in the Shops at Park Lane. While there's no word on where they'll be opening next, the website confirms that more locations are on the horizon.

The budget-friendly stores may be in reaction to complaints in recent months that J.Crew has lost some of its original sparkle. The company has also reported lower sales and made significant cuts to its staff. There's speculation as to if this new initiative could be a way for the company to regain some of its traction with consumers and further boost it's profits.

So what do customers think?

"Just checked out the new @jcrew concept store, J. Crew Mercantile! There's not much difference- it has a J. Crew store feel and quality, but a J. Crew Factory pricing structure..." wrote Dallas fashion blogger Elle Spann in an Instagram post.

"It's great! Definitely very similar to the factory stores - mostly good basics (which is what I love at J.crew) and great prices! Probably will never go back to the real deal now!" commented D Town Sweat on her Instagram post.

With J.Crew's new endeavor, the hope is that consumers will be saving time and money all while looking stylish. Fingers crossed the next J.Crew Mercantile is opening in your neighborhood!
