Unlike the pomp surrounding the nuptials of other European royalty lately, Prince Felix of Luxembourg married his girlfriend in a low-key civil ceremony Tuesday.

The prince, 29, married Claire Lademacher in her native Germany just outside her hometown of Frankfurt. The civil service was witnessed by the couple’s family members, including Felix’s parents, Luxembourg’s Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa.

Felix is the second son of the duke and duchess, who have five children.

Lademacher's parents also were in attendance at the service. The 28-year-old bride is the daughter of German telecommunications mogul Hartmut Lademacher. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in the field of organ donation ethics at a university in Rome.

Too cute: the bride wore a chic peplum dress.

Lademacher wore an ivory knee-length peplum dress with cap sleeves for the civil service. The groom wore a bright red tie beneath his suit.

Tuesday’s ceremony was the first of two for the newlyweds. They are expected to welcome 350 guests during a religious service scheduled for Saturday at a basilia in the South of France.
