Here’s one brunette who could never bore us.
After sporting tresses in so many hues, the mistress of outrageousness has a new (or not so new) shade for her long locks. That’s right, Lady Gaga has traded her blond hair for chestnut brown.
“Definitely feeling less blond lately and little more progressive brunette. I am LOUIS VUITTON BROWN,” she tweeted on Monday, along with a photo of her hair wrapped in a bun atop her head.
While the color has been described as close to her natural brown, Gaga told her masses of Little Monsters that she’d left a “streak of bad” on her left side: “Lady when its down, and Gaga when its up. could we belong together?”
But perhaps, like so many of us who’ve had second thoughts after embarking on a new look, she had a change of heart about the last patch of blond. She later tweeted: “i think I'm gonna do away with this blond streak, feeling like a purist. gosh i forgot what it was like to have soft hair!”
The “Born This Way” pop princess has appeared in a near rainbow of hair colors over the years: blue, pink, yellow and platinum, to name a few. Her new color had many wondering how she got that shade after years of dyeing it. “its a bit of a process...and depends on if your lifting or darkening your color,” she tweeted.
Fans raved online about the songstresses’ darker head of hair. But some questioned whether the woman who pulled off the infamous meat dress was taming her flamboyant looks.
"Shocking Hair News: Lady Gaga Dyes Hair Brown, Looks Kind Of (Gasp!) NORMAL," read a headline on glamour.com.
The post mused that the international megastar might just be able to walk down the street unrecognized, and described the look as “almost - dare we say it? - conservative.”
Gaga had this to say about her brown topknot: “And this is how it looks up!! (I know this is boring) but fun!”
Gaga boring? Never.
