It's all about defined eyes! We've been-there-done-that with standard "blackest black" or "black-brown" eyeliner shades (you know what we're talking about), but the latest craze in the beauty industry is taking dark eyeliner one step further.
Move over boring black and brown, kohl liner is where it's at. When we say kohl, we're talking about a dark, dark, dark gray that's practically black, but with a bit of smokiness to it. In fact, it's technically a softer alternative to your standard black.
We had to get in on the trend in time for fall, so TODAY.com headed to Rouge NY where they showed us how to apply the perfect kohl liner look.
K is for... Kohl
- Go for a pencil liner ... in kohl, of course.
- Line the bottom lid, working from the inner corner outward. And don't be afraid to pile it on. This is all about channeling your inner rock star!
- Take an eyeliner brush and smudge to enhance the smokey look. Pro tip: Smudging with a brush will soften the look and hid any imperfections from when you initially applied.
