Joe Namath's fur coat is Super Bowl winner on Twitter

Video: The unusually big and flashy fur coat worn by the legendary Joe Namath during the Super Bowl coin toss quickly went viral online, with comparisons being made between him and “Anchorman” character Ron Burgundy.

First it was Pharrell's Grammy hat; now it's Joe Namath's Super Bowl coat. Give the Web enough time and it will have a full closet of wardrobe memes for 2014.

The former New York Jets quarterback served as an honorary captain during Sunday's coin toss at the start of Super Bowl XLVIII, sporting a fur coat reminiscent of the days of "Broadway Joe," when he was a colorful icon of the bygone American Football League.

Within minutes the coat went viral, the jacket even getting its own Twitter handle, @JoeNamathCoat.
