Rooney Mara forgoed her signature black ensembles and instead opted for a clean white, avante-garde look for the screening of the film "Her" at the Rome International Film Festival in Rome on Nov. 10.

    Gwyneth Paltrow -

Gwyneth Paltrow has always flirted with experimental fashion (remember that gothic 2002 Oscars getup?), and this year the mom and movie star wore a truly sheer style at the “Iron Man 3” premiere, along with a perplexingly pink gown at the MET Costume Institute Gala.

Actress Jaimie Alexander turned heads at the premiere of "Thor: The Dark World" because what she was wearing revealed all that she wasn't — namely, underwear.

Alexander's black Azzaro Couture dress featured a revealing sheer panel down the front which started at the neckline and traveled a wavy path down her midsection before hanging a hard right below her belly button and continuing to the tip of her shoe.

A pregnant Kim Kardashian wore a custom Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci to the MET Costume Institute Gala, and it oddly caught the attention of Robin Williams. The comedian tweeted out a picture of himself in drag for the 1993 movie "Mrs. Doubtfire" next to a picture of Kardashian, with the note “I think I wore it better!”

    Anne Hathaway -

Anne Hathaway showed off her inner punk at the MET Costume Institute Gala, but it was surprisingly her 2013 Oscars gown that had the most tongues wagging. The Best Supporting Actress nominee wore a pale pink Prada dress which featured rather, well, unfortunate darts.

The unique dress was the talk of the Twitterverse, even inspiring a mock Twitter account. Some called the dress "perky," "Paltrow-esque" and "leaving little to the imagination," all things which can be viewed as either good ... or bad.
