Forget highlights. Women of all ages are flocking to a new hair trend: feather extensions.
These colorful creations have been spotted on celebrities like Selena Gomez, Ke$ha and Steven Tyler, and can be put in at salons or bought online from about $10 and up on sites like Sephora and Etsy.
The feathers are attached to the root of the hair with metal clips, last for several months and can even withstand blow dryers and curling irons.
And they're not just for humans! Now, fashion-forward pooches can enhance their doggie 'dos. Miami-based Puppylocks.com offers feather fur extensions for pups. Three months ago they introduced the product (the company also makes Featherlocks, a human version), which are made with real feathers that attach to fur using a chemical-free adhesive. Depending on the size of your dog, the extensions come in small and large.
