It was the second time she has worn the long-sleeve, high-slit dress — but it was the first time she paired it with a faux crystal necklace from Zara, an accessory that doesn't take a royal budget to afford.
Unfortunately for fans of Kate's style, the $35.90 necklace is sold out on the clothing company’s website, but a Zara spokeswoman — who confirmed the duchess was sporting the affordable item — told TODAY.com the accessory may still be found in some stores.
Earlier this week, the duchess was spotted donning a diamond tiara for the white-tie Diplomatic Reception at Buckingham Palace. The crown formerly belonged to the late Queen Mother.
On Thursday, the duchess wore her hair swept back in a sleek, low and loose ponytail that showed off her dramatic neckline and the crystal bead necklace.
She arrived with Prince William to watch the United Kingdom premiere of “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom," where news broke of the iconic leader's death. "We're just reminded what an extraordinary and inspiring man Nelson Mandela was," Prince William said as the royals left the event.
