Video: From brushing with baking soda to whiten teeth to using beet juice as a natural lip tint, SuChin Pak of DailyCandy.com shares her favorite at-home beauty tricks of the trade.

With winter almost behind us, our beauty regimens are ready for a seasonal makeover. Look to farm-fresh ingredients to nourish skin and hair that has been damaged by winter weather.

Many “all natural” ingredients are already found in high-end beauty products but, in many cases, preservatives and chemicals are added as stabilizers and ultimately dilute the true benefit of nature’s products. Oftentimes, it can be more beneficial to get the all-natural raw form right in your fridge.

Save money and a trip to the spa with DailyCandy’s at-home beauty tricks-of-the-trade that really work:

Aromatherapy facial toner
Tea naturally calms skin, fighting inflammation and puffiness as well as breakouts. Apply the facial toner daily. This recipe is good for all skin types, including post-shave. Prep time: 5-10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1½ c. water
  • 1 peppermint tea bag
  • 1 rooibos tea bag
  • 1 chamomile tea bag
  • 1 drop rosemary essential oil
  • 4 drops lavender essential oil

Step 1. Bring water to a boil. Turn off stove and let water cool 3 minutes.

Step 2. Place tea bags into pot. Cover and let stand 5 minutes.

Step 3. Cool completely before removing tea bags. Add oils.

Step 4. Pour into glass bottle, store in fridge up to two weeks. Shake bottle before use. Apply toner daily to clean skin prior to moisturizing and admire the results.
