'Oh my gosh!' NBC editor gets an Ambush Makeover
From ergonomically-designed eyeliner to state-of-the art mascara, TODAY style editor and author Bobbie Thomas shows off the latest breakthroughs in the world of makeup.
Mascara hasn't had a major makeover in quite some time, but that's changed with Avon's new Mega Effects. They've ditched the old wand and tube, replacing it with a "Wonderbrush" that fits the natural shape of lashes and can deliver up to 40 percent more mascara ($10, avon.com).
New from Nyx Cosmetics is 'The Curve,' a felt tip eyeliner pen with a bent handle that helps keep fingers and hands out of the way for a clear view. There's even a specially-designed 'grip zone' to ensure proper pressure and precise application ($15, nyxcosmetics.com).
3 Way Lash Liner
Last but not least, a tip for creating fuller-looking lashes and more dramatic eyes. Too Faced's 3 Way Lash Lining Tool features three small points, allowing you to dot along the lash line, filling in gaps. Bonus: you can also use the tool to create a smooth line or cat eye look ($22, toofaced.com).
Glamglow, a cult favorite for its 'Supermud' facemasks, has just released a "reverse action, quick fix, under eye non-drying mud treatment." Translation? Wipe the product on, and wipe off three minutes later to reveal brighter eyes. The treatment can also reduce dark circles and puffiness and help stimulate lymphatic drainage ($69, sephora.com).
