I love any multi-tasking product just as much as the next girl. I get excited about dual-ended lipstick/lipgloss tubes and I celebrate the infinite uses of balms (for cuticles, dry lips, split-ends — the list goes on). Any beauty product that saves time and keeps my makeup bag neat is a keeper.
This obsession with efficiency also explains why I have a stockpile of face wipes that could last well into the next decade. Seriously, the uses are endless. When you have face wipes, you can forget about lugging around tissue boxes in your car, cleaning out soiled purses or even taking a shower. (OK, depending on how bad you smell).
Maybe I'm a little too enthusiastic, but you get the idea. And I'm not alone on this — just about every beauty editor at Total Beauty loves face wipes as much as I do. So here are the ones we adore and the myriad things we do with them. If you're anything like us, you'll fall in love too.
Pond's Luminous Clean Wet Cleansing Towelettes
"These are extra thick and have a nubby texture, which makes them perfect for removing anything that's really sticky. I've used them to wipe away a face full of makeup after a photo shoot — when cleanser just wouldn’t be enough — and I also use them on my dog's paws after we get back from the muddy park. It may sound ridiculous, but it's so much easier than giving her a bath." — Dawn Davis, NYC Beauty Editor
LA Fresh Eco-Beauty Oil-Free Face Cleanser
"These are biodegradable and made with natural ingredients. I use them when I'm too lazy to wash my face, but I really loved them last June when I did a 'mud run.' You can't bring soap to the race for environmental reasons, but I was still able to get reasonably clean with a few of these." — Sarah Carrillo, Senior Editor
Simple Facial Cleansing Wipes
"Simple wipes are the only ones I'll use — the rest can really irritate my skin. I always bring a pack with me when I travel because they can take off anything, even waterproof makeup. And they're great for freshening up mid-flight." — Meghan Rabbitt, Executive Editor
Yes to Cucumbers Facial Towelettes
"Some days — OK, most days — I don't even wash my face; I just use one of these wipes. They take off everything without causing breakouts or irritating my eyes. I also use them to clean my feet at night — they feel cooling and soothing after a long day." — Cinya Burton, Senior Associate Editor
Klorane Soothing Makeup Remover Wipes
"These are especially great for my sensitive skin. I usually wrap one over a Q-Tip to remove tricky, concentrated areas of makeup — like eyeliner that's really stuck between my lashes." — Emily Popp, Associate Editor
Mustela Facial Cleansing Cloths
"These are incredibly soft, and they have a barely-noticeable powdery scent. Besides using them to wipe off my makeup, I'll sometimes use one to clean off my shoes after I wear them and the inside gets sweaty." — Christine Lee, Editorial Intern
Neutrogena Oil-Free Cleansing Wipes
"Often, the only time I can squeeze in a yoga class is right before a meeting. Kind of gross, I know, but at least I'm not doing Bikram yoga. If I wipe down my face, back, and chest with one of these wipes, I feel so much more refreshed. They have salicylic acid to fight breakouts, and the pink grapefruit scent is really clean and refreshing." — Dawn Davis, NYC Beauty Editor
