Tina Oshie got a little lightheaded this weekend from keeping track of all the times her son kept appearing on the ice during a very suspenseful shootout between the U.S. hockey team and the Russians.
“I was on the edge of my seat the whole game,” she said Monday on TODAY.
T.J. Oshie went 4 for 6 during the shootout, sealing Saturday’s win with the collaboration of U.S. goalie Jonathan Quick.
About the third or fourth time T.J. came out, his mom got confused, since the National Hockey League forbids the same person from making all the attempts in a shootout. The Olympics has no such rule, however.
“I was asking all the dads, ‘Can they do that? He can’t go again, can he?’ And they were all like, ‘I don’t know.’ They didn’t know either. None of us had seen that before,” she said.
