Snowboarder Jamie Anderson, 23, is so zen, you'd have no idea she's about to make history — competing in slopestyle's Olympic debut. While Jamie is fierce out on the mountain, it wasn't medaling potential that drew her to the sport.

“I had no idea that snowboarding in general was an Olympic event when I started,” Jamie told TODAY.com. “It wasn’t until the last few years that I realized I could potentially go to the Olympics for snowboarding — it’s been a really fun journey.”

The laid-back beauty makes it seem so easy, and it turns out, she's actually not much of a gym rat. Here, the 23-year-old South Lake Tahoe native tells us how she stays looking so good.

Favorite muscle/body part:

"I love abs! They bring the whole body together. I focus on a lot of core exercises with my trainer and in my yoga practice."

Typical fitness routine:

"I really only work out in the gym in summer and fall because I’m on the road so much. But I always go to yoga — I do core fusion and Vinyasa. My favorite poses are variations on the handstand and the scorpion. You have to use your whole body, it’s physically and mentally challenging. You have to find your balance in this uncomfortable position, so when you do it, you feel like you’re really overcoming an obstacle.

"I also mountain bike and take walks in the morning, and also take time to get rest and stretch. I’m not really strength-training now — it’s more about maintaining and staying balanced, not overrunning my body. In the fall, I train really hard to build up muscle tone and endurance. In the winter, I’m exerting so much energy on the mountain so I don’t need to do too much more than that."

Diet tips:

"I always try to eat healthy — pure, organic, whole foods. I eat a little bit of meat, but I’m mostly vegetarian. I drink a green shake that’s filled with amino acids — it’s called Tonic Alchemy — it has over 100 superfoods like spiruline, goji berries, all kinds of different grains. My acupuncturist at home recommended it — he’s a yogi and healer and has an amazing strong body. You have to make sure you’re taking in a lot of extra vitamins and minerals. Giving yourself the right ingredients is for your body what positive affirmations are to the mind."

What are your go-to workout song(s)?

"At the gym I like to listen to the Bob Marley radio station — it’s fun, mellow, and when I’m doing something hard, it reminds me to breathe — to not get too overwhelmed."

How do you stay looking good while on the mountain?

"If I’m running late trying to get on the mountain, I don’t have time for a lot of makeup. I have to hydrate, so I use a BB cream for sun protection and light coverage, and a little mascara. I keep it quick easy, semi-natural."

What’s your one must-have beauty item?

"Fresh Effects Dew Over Hydrating Gel. It’s a moisturizer that helps my skin stay hydrated. My skin looks better on its own without powder and makeup, but if my face is dry, it’s no bueno."
