    What decade is this?

"Dancing With the Stars" is known for its lively judges, sexy dancers, and of course, its sometimes questionable costumes. Check out some of our favorite odd outfits from season 14 and why they may have been better off left in the dressing rooms. -- Anna Chan

Pro Anna Trebunskaya was paired with actor Jack Wagner for a premiere night jive on March 19. But rather than play up their good looks and great bodies, the two ended up in outfits that aged them both. The saddest part? Anna has a fantastic body, but it's hidden in this unflattering tablecloth of a dress.

    Dance-floor fault

Tennis legend Martina Navratilova was a great sport for the short time she was on "Dancing With the Stars," but the costume department didn't do her justice on March 26. Sure, her pants are cute and the shoes matched, but what was up with that red bra and the fishnet shirt?!

Pro Tony Dovolani didn't get off easier either. Besides being paired with yet another hopeful who wouldn't get far, the dancer was stuck doing a jive in what appeared to be his pajama bottoms. Someone cut him some slack next season!

    of

    Fast-food jive

Jaleel White and Kym Johnson performed a clunky jive on March 26. "Dancing" is supposed to be about great dances, and apparently for the actor, wearing a uniform from a diner reflects the classy feel of ballroom performances. Sorry, but the sequins don't make it appropriate wear!

    of

    Under the sea

Are the folks in the costume department trying to make Cuban actor William Levy look even better than he already does? That's the only explanation for putting pro Cheryl Burke in this Little Mermaid-inspired getup, right?! As if looking like Ariel weren't bad enough, the cut of the dress is also incredibly unflattering. The woman has a great body, and yet, you wouldn't know it looking at her in this costume from March 26.

    Swimming With the Stars?

Melissa Gilbert showed throughout the season that she was game for just about anything on "Dancing," from difficult choreography to crazy lifts in her Argentine tango to ... donning a bathing suit on the dance floor?! And it was a rather unfortunate one she wore for her jive on April 2. Not only was it ill-fitting (more support, please!), the sparkly streamers around her hips only highlighted her problem areas.

    Not-so-smooth look

For "Most Memorable Year of My Life" week, Disney star Roshon Fegan and pro dancer Chelsie Hightower paid tribute to Michael Jackson. For Roshon, that meant not only borrowing a few dance moves, but the singer's 'fro from his younger days.

    Shake it off

Since pro Lacey Schwimmer isn't part of this season, it seems the "DWTS" costume department decided to pick on Cheryl this time around. During "Most Memorable Year of My Life" week on April 2, the pro hoofer found herself surrounded by a cloud of tissue paper that appears designed to make her thighs look bigger than they actually are.

    Not rockin' it

Co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet has found herself in some pretty classy and elegant looks this season, but not on Rock Week on April 9. The big hair and skin-tight, studded-leather dress plus fishnets just weren't her. Result? She looked incredibly uncomfortable in the gothy getup.

Snakes are so rock 'n' roll

For Rock Week, pro Kym accessorized with ... a boa constrictor on her lace dress?! Ozzy Osbourne approves.

  • GLADYS KNIGHT, TRISTAN MACMANUS

Worst 'Dancing With the Stars' costumes of season 14

    of

Heard it through the grape juice

Gladys Knight looked fantastic in a body-hugging purple frock on Motown Week, but her pro partner, Tristan MacManus, was not so lucky. The usually dashing gent looked like he took a dip in some grape-flavored Kool-Aid prior to the show.

    Pink ... with embarrassment

Latin Week tends to offer up some sassy little outfits for both pros and celebs, but not on April 16 and not for Maks Chmerkovskiy and Melissa Gilbert. The pro's face says it all with a "what the heck?!" look. The actress looked more game, despite the fact that her dress looked like a shredded Big Bird.

    Feathery mess

Color. Feathers. Yeah, we get that Latin Week is bright and fluffy! But poor Chelsie! It looks like the costume department stuck a few flimsy feathers on her left chest, a few colorful hair extensions on her right chest, then a feathery mini-skirt around her hips. Does it move well? Sure. Does it look good? Not so much.

    Green with envy

Pro Mark Ballas and singer Katherine Jenkins ruled the Cha-Cha Challenge on April 23, scoring another 10 points for their extra effort. But is it any wonder why the judges awarded them the most points? Who can look elsewhere when the duo is garbed in the hideous neon green? And the eliminated couples standing behind them? They're cheering because they didn't get stuck with the blinding color. (Though Maks, right behind Mark, might not have been too pleased with his pumpkin-orange pants either.)

  • GEORGE LOPEZ, WILMER VALDERRAMA

Worst 'Dancing With the Stars' costumes of season 14

    of

    Ballroom foul

Actors George Lopez, left, and Wilmer Valderrama were on hand to cheer on the dancers on April 30, but it seems one of them didn't get the memo about the dress code. The former "That '70s Show" star's jeans are a big no-no for the ballroom, especially for someone sitting in the front row. He's lucky he's a celeb! Us regular folks would've been denied entry to the glitzy event.

    Cover up!

During Classical Week on April 30, Katherine and Mark performed a steam-free rumba, despite the pro hoping to heat things up by going for a shirtless gladiator look. (Note to costume dept.: Gladiators didn't wear trousers.) Unfortunately for him, with it being Classical Week, his look didn't match the feel of the music very well, and our readers complained loudly during our weekly chat.

  • DEREK HOUGH, MARIA MENOUNOS

Worst 'Dancing With the Stars' costumes of season 14

    of

    What's the opposite of fang-tastic?

No doubt about it, Derek Hough and Maria Menounos looked amazing in their costumes on Classical Week. Unfortunately, the vampire-themed paso doble included some fake fangs for the TV personality, taking her look from sizzling hot to ridiculously cheesy when she went in for the kill.

    of

    Slithery look

During the semifinals round on May 14, Mark and Katherine opted for a snake-charmer themed salsa. Unfortunately for the singer, while she's reigned as one of the top female performers all season, the dance was weak, she sustained an injury and she had to wear that terrible outfit. The cut was all wrong, for starters. She has a fantastic body, but the costume made her look big around the middle and was ill proportioned. The color choice was iffy as well, with many readers referring to her as "broccoli" during our "DWTS" live chat.
