(FILES): This 1955 file photo shows US actress Natalie Wood (1938-1981). US police are to re-open the investigation into the death of US actress Natalie Wood, who died in mysterious circumstances while boating in 1981, they said Thursday, November 17, 2011. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) said new information had come to light over the death, which was deemed an accident at the time but which has long fueled speculation. Wood drowned while boating off of Catalina Island, near Los Angeles on November 29, 1981. It was investigated by the LACD and the LA County Coroner's Office, who ruled it was an accident. \"Recently Sheriff's Homicide Investigators were contacted by persons who stated they had additional information about the Natalie Wood Wagner drowning,\" said an LASD statement. In response, the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau \"has decided to take another look at the case,\" it added. AFP PHOTO / Files / INP (Photo credit should read -/AFP/Getty Images)

Rest in peace

The gravesite of actress Natalie Wood is seen in the Westwood Village Memorial Park in Los Angeles, on August 18, 2009. The burial spot located just above the final resting place of Marilyn Monroe is going on sale for a cool 500,000 dollars on auction website eBay. The tomb in the Westwood Village Memorial Park in Los Angeles is currently occupied by one Richard Poncher, who died 23 years ago aged 81. But his widow is having his body moved over one spot and auctioning the site above Monroe's, hoping to earn enough to pay off her 1.6-million-dollar Beverly Hills home. The cemetery is also the final resting place for celebrities as Natalie Wood, Truman Capote, Frank Zappa, Dean Martin, Jack Lemmon, Burt Lancaster, Billy Wilder, and more recently Farrah Fawcett.
