    Speak no evil

On March 28, Disney star Chelsea Kane and pro partner Mark Ballas danced a goofy jive that left the judges a bit grumpy. What was more obnoxious than the lack of jive content in the dance were the bizarre costumes. Chelsea's too cute to look awful, but those knee-high striped socks and shiny flats? Yikes. Mark, on the other hand ... it were as if the Mad Hatter decided to star in "A Clockwork Orange" as a mime.

    What's left?

Ralph Macchio and pro partner Karina Smirnoff danced a sweet rumba on April 4. Judge Len Goodman said it was crisp and clear, but the only thing that's clear is that it seems the costumers ran out of time to finish the left half of Karina's dress.

    Clash of the ballroom titans

On April 11, fan favorite Kirstie Alley and pro partner Maks Chmerkovskiy danced a waltz that left her briefly shoeless. "Everything needs improvement!" Len declared. So true, especially when it comes to her outfit. A flesh-colored panel of fabric in the midsection of a royal purple outfit? A ginormous, clunky turquoise necklace to pair with a sparkly dress? Can you say "clashing"?

    Front or back?

The judges praised Chris Jericho and pro partner Cheryl Burke's graceful Viennese waltz on April 18. The wrestler may have looked dashing in his suit, but Cheryl looked as if she had accidentally put the dress on backward.

    Getting me down

Kirstie and Maks danced the foxtrot to "American Woman" on America Week on April 18. The pair scored a paltry 23 for their effort, but what really left us feeling blue was Kirstie's unfortunate costume. Fortunately, Maks' shirtless ensemble was a pleasant distraction.

    Poor Old Glory

America Week was a goldmine for bad outfits. Kendra Wilkinson and pro partner Louis van Amstel delivered a robotic foxtrot on April 18 in costumes that looked as if they had been made from flag-themed tablecloths. And Louis' fake beard? Eew.

    Wax off that costume

Karina and Ralph danced a "Karate Kid"-inspired paso doble on April 25 in some rather non-fierce costumes. The actor's would have been fine, were it not for the super shiny gold fabric lining the inside his long jacket. But poor Karina. She may have a fantastic body, but even she can't make an outfit that looks like a Cinderella-inspired swimsuit with a skirt attached look good.

    Tutu much

On May 2, Maks and Kirstie danced an "uneventful" jive, as Len put it. If only her outfit were as uneventful. Instead, it looked like the designers slapped together every unflattering piece of fabric and then some onto Kirstie's shrinking body. Rather than allow her to show off her new, smaller figure, they wrapped her in enough tulle to make her hips and bottom look 10 times bigger. Then they stuck her in rhinestoned leggings that were the opposite of slimming. And the leopard-print heels. Really?! In comparison, Maks got off easy with just magenta socks.

    Green ... not with envy

On May 2, Ralph and Karina danced a quickstep that Bruno called "vibrant." The color of the pro's dress certainly was that! Though perhaps not the easiest color to pull off, the hue was the least of the problem. The skirt Karina wore looked like living room drapes that had been shredded by some angry kitties.

    Split personality

On May 2, Hines Ward and pro partner Kym Johnson delivered a tango that Len called "dainty" and Bruno said was "strong." Much like the differing opinions, Kym's dress looked as if it had its own Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde personalities, with her right side looking sweet and bright, the left looking dark and a bit sinister. It were as if the designers decided to sew two different outfits together.

    What's the theme again?

Romeo and pro partner Chelsie Hightower danced a samba that lacked the right bounce on May 2. What was also lacking was a cohesive theme. Individually, both Romeo and Chelsea looked great. Together? It was just bizarre. GI fatigues and her sparkly pink jive-appropriate outfit just didn't mesh.

    Getting funky

Chelsea and Mark offered a hot salsa for their instant dance on May 9, but their outfits were anything but spicy. The pro likes to push the boundaries by delivering modern aspects to their dances, so it's too bad the costume designers didn't seem to get the message. The top half of Chelsea's outfit looks ripped from the '80s: neon green? Check! Giant neon green headband? Check! And like Maks, Mark lucked out with only having to wear scrunchy green socks.

    Bubble Yum!

Co-host Brooke Burke usually gets off easy when it comes to odd looks, thanks to no longer being a contestant, but her wardrobe was a bit off on May 9. (But props to the hair stylist!) A few splashes of that bright pink could've been cute, but a whole gown? That's treading into cheesy prom territory. Not to mention the unfortunate draping on her arm, which makes her dress look like it's slipping off.

    Totally inappropriate

On May 16, Karina and Ralph danced what Len called a "wild" salsa. But it wasn't the mediocre dance that got the judges talking. Bruno said something that was apparently over-the-top inappropriate about Karina's leopard-print, fringed catsuit and sparkly red bra, and was bleeped for it. But who can blame him for commenting on that getup?

And Ralph's outfit wasn't much better. Yes, those are gold chains and a giant dollar sign hanging around his neck. Plus he wore a butt booster to give him a little extra shimmy in the dance.
