From Erin Andrews’ mismatched swing costume to Chad Ochocinco’s Jedi outfit, we offer a selection of the dance floor’s more unfortunate looks.

    Daddy's little girl -

Astronaut Buzz Aldrin and pro partner Ashly Costa performed the waltz on April 5 to the story of a father-daughter reunion. Hopefully, pops brought home a new dress for his little girl that doesn't resemble a messy watercolor.

Red-hot (under the collar) mama -

On the April 5 episode, contestants were to tell a story with their dance. Kate Gosselin performed a passionless paso doble that was supposed to represent the paparazzi hounding her, but her outfit, hair and makeup made her look more like a mom whose look is put together by her eight children.

    Is that you, Casper? -

For her April 12 performance, Pamela Anderson performed a sophisticated rumba ... in a bedsheet that covered up everything. Did the "Dancing" costumers run out of time? Even the sexy actress couldn't pull off this look. Judge Len Goodman enjoyed her performance, but also couldn't overlook her outfit: "A little bit overdressed!" he said.

    *snip snip!* -

Soap star Aiden Turner submitted a sub par rumba on April 12 alongside barely dressed pro Edyta Sliwinska. Were the costumers just having a bad night? Pamela Anderson was wearing a sheet, but Edyta's outfit appeared to have been cut up a bit excessively, even for her.

    Meee-ow! -

Movie night on April 19 had football star Chad Ochocinco and pro partner Cheryl Burke dancing the quickstep to "Bare Necessities" from "The Jungle Book." Yes, they were striving for a tie-in to the song, as well as Chad's Bengals football team, but maybe the tiger stripes weren't that great an idea.

    She's key -

Pro dancer Anna Trebunskaya, left, with partner Evan Lysacek, must have been happy to stand near host Brooke Burke after her April 19 dance. The hoofer's barely there outfit looked stunning next to Burke's skin-tight piano-key dress. Play us out, Brooke!

    Show-offs -

ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews and pro partner Maks Chmerkovskiy heated up the dance floor on April 26 -- she with a top that barely covered her assets, and he with absolutely nothing up top. Fortunately for Erin, Maks' physique distracted from her horribly unflattering, Barney-colored outfit.

    She's wearing what?! -

April 26 was not a good day for Erin Andrews. First, she was stuck with a purple dress that managed to be both too revealing and too poofy for her samba. Then for the swing dance marathon, she had to wear four different unflattering pieces as one single outfit. Even gold-medal ice skater Evan Lysacek behind her seems dumbfounded by the costume.

    She's no movie star -

Yes, Kate Gosselin's a mother, but was it necessary to dress her up like a grandmother for April 19's movie night? The mom of eight and partner Tony Dovolani danced the foxtrot to the "Breakfast Club" tune "Don't You (Forget About Me)," but her outfit -- and her "moves" -- belied the youthful theme of the film.

Getting jiggy with Big Bird -

It seems that nearly every season, a "Dancing" contestant is saddled with an outfit that resembles Big Bird, and this year, Niecy Nash had the honor of shaking her jiggly bits in the getup. She and pro partner Louis Van Amstel danced the jive to "La Bamba," and the actress gave flight to her costume.

    of

    'Risky' look -

The male pros on "Dancing" seem to have a penchant for showing off their torsos (Helloooo, Maks!), but on April 19, contestant Jake Pavelka decided to show off his legs instead. OK, so the "Bachelor" star was re-enacting the scene made famous by Tom Cruise in "Risky Business" as part of his cha-cha, but still. We didn't need to see that. (Fortunately, he put some pants on later in the dance.)

    From the scrap pile -

"Bachelor" Jake Pavelka and partner Chelsie Hightower danced the samba on April 26, but it wasn't their poor performance on the dance floor that caught our attention. It was her jumbled mess of an outfit. Were random scraps of fabric just quickly sewn together so she'd have something to wear? It was a sorry costume to have to wear for her last dance, as she and Pavelka were voted off the next day.

    Groovy -

Football star Chad Ochocinco received pretty good marks from the judges for his jive on May 10, but his outfit was questionable. Doesn't it make you think Santa may have something else going on besides making toys?

    Futuristic folly -

On May 10, gold-medal ice skater Evan Lysacek and pro partner Anna Trebunskaya danced a futuristic cha-cha. Her outfit seemed to be a more conservative but cute version of Leeloo's barely there outfit in the film "The Fifth Element," his was just out there. The hair, the makeup, the Michael Jackson sparkly gloves ... they just don't work together!

The Force is not with this outfit -

Mysterious abilities may have manifested themselves during Obi-Wan Kenobi wannabe Chad Ochocinco's waltz on May 17 and helped him earn high scores, but that outfit did him no favors. Skimpy Jedi uniform or bad pajamas? You decide.

    Purple power -

Nicole Scherzinger channeled Prince from head to toe during her cha-cha with pro Derek Hough on May 17. Sure, the top is more flattering on her than on the musician, but the pants. Oh, the pants! Not only did they make her long, slender legs look short and chunky, but it looked like they were trying to mop the floor as she danced.

    Get dressed! -

For her first dance on the May 24 show, Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger danced the rumba -- in red lingerie. Yes, the rumba is a sexy dance, but even competitors Erin and Maks, whose contemporary performance involved rolling around passionately on an actual bed, wore dance floor-appropriate garb.

These two things do NOT go together -

Again on May 24, Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough committed a fashion crime. The suits and ties were sexy and cute, but paired with neon green tennis shoes? Come on!

A bad night on 'Dancing' -

As if Nicole and Derek's neon green shoes weren't bad enough, they ripped off the fancy jackets, shirts and pants to reveal more of the hideous green. Ugh.

But they weren't the only pair having trouble with their outfits that night. Evan Lysacek, center, was stuffed into a nice outfit but had to wear jarringly ugly high-top sneakers.

Then there's co-host Brooke Burke, second from left, who was sporting a hairstyle ripped right off the head of "Married With Children's" Peg Bundy.
