    Lohan's legal woes -

    Lindsay Lohan was in and out of courtrooms repeatedly in 2011 as the actress struggled to resolve numerous court cases. In February, she was charged with theft of a necklace that she wore out of a store. While on house arrest, she failed an alcohol test. She also had issues with her court-assigned community service, allegedly bad-mouthing it and missing one day when she showed up and supposedly could not find the entrance to the morgue where she was to work.

    John Galliano's slurs -

    British fashion designer John Galliano was suspended from his job at Dior in February. Police took Galliano into custody in Paris after he reportedly assaulted a couple and made anti-Semitic insults following a drinking session at a bar. He was later found guilty in a French court and fined; he was later dismissed from Dior.

    Charlie Sheen's months of trouble -

    In March, Charlie Sheen was fired from his role on "Two and a Half Men," and he barely left tabloid headlines for months after that. The actor had long had a troubled relationship with show creator Chuck Lorre, and a brutal war of words ensued. Sheen also stayed in the news thanks to interviews where he spoke about the two "goddesses" he lived with, and referenced his "tiger blood" and his conviction that he was "winning" at life. He also went on a brief national tour where he talked to audiences, some of which heckled and booed the actor.

    Aguilera drunk in public -

    Singer Christina Aguilera was briefly arrested in March after being found drunk in public and deemed unable to take care of herself, police said. She sobered up in jail, and was released the same day.

    Schwarzenegger had son with employee -

    Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and wife Maria Shriver separated in May. It was later revealed that he had fathered a child with an employee while married to Shriver, keeping the boy a secret from his wife for a decade. He reportedly did not tell Shriver until she spoke to the child's mother and then confronted him.

    Teen bride -

    Many were shocked in May when Courtney Stodden, just 16, married character actor Doug Hutchison, 51. Stodden looks and dresses much older than her age and she and her husband continue to seek the spotlight, especially via her tight, seductive outfits. Stodden's parents gave their consent for her early marriage.

    Crystal Harris breaks off wedding to Hugh Hefner -

    In June, Crystal Harris broke off her engagement to Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, just days before their planned wedding. A war of words then ensued, with Harris saying she never saw Hefner naked and that they only had sex once, and Hefner responding that they had sex once a week.

    'Teen Mom' troubles -

    Amber Portwood, one of the young mothers on MTV's "Teen Mom" series, was involved in a variety of legal trouble in 2011. She reportedly attempted suicide in June, and has faced domestic violence charges in incidents involving Gary Shirley, the father of her daughter Leah.

    Suicide of 'Real Housewife' husband -

    Taylor Armstrong, a cast member on "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," was separated from husband Russell in July when he hung himself. The couple has a 5-year-old daughter, Kennedy. Taylor Armstrong has said Russell abused her and that she feared for her life, but members of his family take issue with her statements.

    Pitt gets in trouble for referencing Aniston -

    Brad Pitt was criticized in the press for telling Parade magazine in September that his life was not interesting when he was married to Jennifer Aniston. He later said the comments were misinterpreted.

    'Toddlers and Tiaras' shocking outfits -

    TLC's "Toddlers and Tiaras" focuses on little girls in beauty pageants. Just the concept is appalling to many, but the show really angered audiences this year when two little girls dressed in costumes. In September, one dressed as Julia Roberts' hooker character from the movie "Pretty Woman," and in June, the other was costumed as short-shorts wearing Daisy Duke from "Dukes of Hazzard."

    Nude photos of Scarlett Johansson leaked -

    In September, nude photos of Scarlett Johansson were released on the Internet. The photos were apparently stolen by the same person who has hacked numerous celebrity cell phones, and Johansson admitted the photos were real.

    'Harry Potter' actor no legal wizard -

    British actor Jamie Waylett played Vincent Crabbe in all but one of the Harry Potter films. In 2009, police found marijuana in Waylett's car and additional plants at his mother's home. In October 2011, he was arrested for participating in the London riots, and more marijuana was found growing at his home. He was written out of the final film.

    Kim Kardashian's marriage lasts 72 days -

    After spending the equivalent of the gross national product of some countries on a fancy wedding in August, reality star Kim Kardashian and NBA player Kris Humphries announced in October they were divorcing after just 72 days of marriage. The wedding was covered on E! in a two-part, four-hour special that some later joked lasted longer than the marriage.

    Thomas Jane reveals he was a gay hooker -

    "Hung" star Thomas Jane told the L.A. Times in October that he worked as a gay hooker when he first came to the city as a young man. "I wasn't averse to going down to Santa Monica Boulevard and letting a guy buy me a sandwich. Know what I mean?" the actor told the newspaper.

    Conrad Murray sentenced in Michael Jackson's death -

    Dr. Conrad Murray, who was working as Michael Jackson's personal physician when the singer died in 2009, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to four years in jail in November. The trial exposed some ugly details about Jackson's final days, during which he was given the surgical drug propofol as a sleep aid on a nightly basis by Murray.

    Boat captain blames Wagner for Wood's death -

    As of November, California homicide investigators are taking a new look at one of Hollywood's most enduring mysteries. Actress Natalie Wood drowned off her yacht in 1981. In November, the yacht's captain appeared on TODAY and said he felt Wood's husband Robert Wagner was responsible for her death. Days later, the case was reopened, with investigators saying only that new information had surfaced. They did not call Wagner a suspect.

    Hugh Grant testifies in celeb hacking trial -

    Hugh Grant was one of the Hollywood stars reportedly hacked by the British tabloid press. The actor took the stand in December to explain what happened to him, saying he tried to convince the paparazzi to leave his child alone to no avail.

    Baldwin kicked off plane -

    In December, actor Alec Baldwin was kicked off a plane for reportedly refusing to stop playing games on his iPad while the plane was waiting to take off. He later apologized to passengers who were inconvenienced.
