It looks as if Latina pop icon Gloria Estefan has passed on the talent for infectious pop tunes to her daughter.

Both Gloria Estefan and her husband Emilio are musical whizzes, with decades of hits and success both solo and as part of Miami Sound Machine behind them. So it comes as no surprise that their daughter Emily, 20, is now getting into the family business.

"They're amazing, golden footsteps to follow in," the younger Estefan told TODAY's Natalie Morales, seated next to her mother. "So my biggest fear now is just being able to do the past justice."

Emily grew up on the stage, being carried out before the audiences by mom and then, at age 10, performing for the first time. She made her singing debut in 2014 at The Hollywood Bowl, which she called "daunting."

"All the people who have been able to perform there that ... deserve it," she said. "Oftentimes, I don't believe that I deserve things ... There's no way of knowing when you are a descendant of the Conga Queen."

And yes, that is what she calls her mother!

As Emily builds her career, Gloria and Emilio are expanding their expertise by working on an upcoming Broadway musical, "On Your Feet!" about their 37-year-marriage and love story. So what is it that fueled Estefan's success all these years?

For that answer, she went to one of her own song titles: "I think, first of all, that the rhythm is gonna get you," she grinned. "We were just trying to stay true to who we were."
