Proscuitto & Focaccia Sandwich

Ingredients

  • Focaccia
  • Olive tapenade
  • 2 plum tomatoes, sliced
  • 2 Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 pound proscuitto de parma, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 pound Fresh mozzarella, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 pound Fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 pound Freshly ground black pepper

Preparation

Baking Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Split the focaccia in half to make two slices.

On one side of the bread, spread the olive tapenade and lay 3 to 4 tomato slices on top.

On the other half, drizzle some olive oil and lay 5 to 6 slices of the proscuitto on top.

Add 4 slices fresh mozzarella and 4 to 5 basil leaves.

Add freshly ground pepper and close the sandwich.

Place in the oven for 3 to 4 minutes or until the cheese begins to melt.

Cut into 2 or 3 individual sandwiches and serve warm.
