OPEN FACE HAM AND CHEESE SANDWICH

Ingredients

  • 4 slice sesame artisan bread
  • 4 tablespoon butter
  • 4 tablespoon applesauce or apple butter
  • 8 slice proscuitto or thinly sliced ham
  • 1 slice apple cored
  • 4 slice swiss cheese

Preparation

Baking Directions:

Preheat oven with pizza stone to 400 degrees.

Brush both sides of a slice bread with butter.

On top side of the bread, spread 1 TBSP apple butter.

Place two slices of ham folded over each other on top of the bread.

Add 2-3 slices of apple over the ham.

Lay one slice of Swiss cheese on the apples.

With an oven mitt, gently pull out the rack with the pizza stone and carefully place the sandwich on the stone.

Bake for 15 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
