Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup honeydew melon
- 2 cup cold still water
- 1/2 cup best-quality iced vodka
Preparation
Baking Directions:
Combine the lemon juice, sugar, and zest in a small saucepan and bring it to a boil.
Simmer until the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes.
Strain and cool.
Puree the melon in a blender.
In a pitcher, combine the melon puree and the cooled syrup and mix well.
Chill, covered in the refrigerator, for at least 1 hour or until ready to use.
Just before serving, add the water and vodka, if using, and serve over crushed ice.
Garnish with lemon slices.
Serve in highball or iced-tea glasses.
Tips:
If you are adding the vodka on a per-drink basis, add 2 shots or 4 tablespoons per glass of melon lemonade.
