Chef notes

This Valentine’s Day, shake things up and serve a cocktail perfect for sharing with your love this holiday. This recipe calls for the ruby-red liqueur Cherry Heering. It’s made by soaking lightly-crushed Danish cherries in a neutral grain spirit that's blended with some spices. All the ingredients are matured together in casks, resulting in a rich sweet sip. If your Valentine is cocktail-curious, a bottle of this adorned with a red ribbon makes a perfect gift. If not, go ahead and add a bottle to your bar and immediately your cocktail repertoire will expand to include everything from the classic Singapore Sling to more modern drinks like the recipe below, the Get Lucky! from New York’s Bottle & Bine mixologist Moses Laboy.

This cocktail makes the perfect amount to be shared. So grab your date, a cocktail shaker and two straws and clink to a happy Valentine’s Day.
