Chef notes

An icy cocktail is a true treat on a hot summer day. The fresh strawberries in this boozy slushy enhance all the wonder fruity notes of the rosé wine.

Ingredients

Strawberry simple syrup
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 8 ounces strawberries, hulled, quartered
Frozen rosé
  • 1 cup strawberry simple syrup (recipe above)
  • 1 bottle rosé (choose a dry rosé that looks darker than others)
  • 5 cups ice

Preparation

For strawberry simple syrup:

Bring water to a boil. Add the sugar, reduce heat to low and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add strawberries to simple syrup, remove from heat and let sit for around 30 minutes. Strain the strawberry syrup through a sieve, but don't mash the strawberries though. Chill for at least 30 minutes.

For the frozen rosé:

In a blender, combine 1 cup strawberry simple syrup, 1 cup rose and ice. Blend until frothy and slushy.
