Ingredients
- 6 thin slices jamon serrano (you can substitute prosciutto)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon water or milk
- 1 cup dried bread crumbs
Preparation
Baking Directions:
Place each piece of pork between 2 sheets of plastic wrap and, using a meat mallet, pound to 1/4-inch thick.
Lay a slice of ham on each piece of pork, roll up into a tight cylinder, and secure with a couple of toothpicks.
Beat the eggs with the water in a shallow bowl.
Put the bread crumbs in another shallow bowl.
Dip each pork roll into the eggs and then into the bread crumbs, turning to coat; set aside on a plate.
Heat 1/2-inch of oil in a large skillet to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 Celsius) over medium-high heat.
Add the pork rolls and cook, turning occasionally, until golden and crisp on all sides, about 10 minutes total.
Drain on paper towels, then cut into 1-inch slices and serve.
