Annika Rudemo’s stunning makeover may have been dramatic enough to set off an international incident Thursday. The Swedish tourist and one other lucky lady were plucked from Rockefeller Plaza to become recipients of TODAY’s Ambush Makeovers.
Donna Hannick of Pennsylvania was the other beneficiary of a beauty transformation. Stylists drastically took inches off the length of her hair, lightened its color and added some bangs to soften her forehead.
She walked out in a rich red dress with an asymmetrical neckline, which Jill Martin said was a “sexy alternative to strapless.”
For Rudemo, her new look stunned her daughter – and herself.
“Oh my God,” she said in English, getting her first look at her new self in the mirror. “It’s gorgeous.”
Stylists pulled her blonde hair out of a tight ponytail, lightened it up, and added some waves.
“This will very easy for her to keep. She can even just put it in braids and let it dry,” said Louis Licari, TODAY’s stylist to the stars.
They kept her makeup soft, except around the eyes, where they went heavy on the lashes.
“She looks amazing,” said her stunned daughter.
