We've seen how moving a meeting with "Hollywood Medium's" Tyler Henry can be right here on TODAY, so it's no surprise to learn his latest celebrity reading brought on tears — and smiles.

Henry visited "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" this week and shared a deeply personal message with the host's wife, actress Portia de Rossi.

"I have a man coming through who's showing me 'R,' 'R-O,'" Henry told de Rossi. "That to me is not a full name but is a way of conveying a part of a name."

The star immediately made the connection to her late father, Barry Rogers, who died when she was just 9 years old.

Henry said that her dad wanted to communicate to her how he felt about leaving her so suddenly when he suffered a heart attack: "Had I known that this would be the last goodbye, I would have held you," he said.

It wasn't long before de Rossi was dabbing tears away from her eyes, especially when Henry mentioned the name Mandy, which, as it turned out, was the name her father — and only her father — called her when she was little.

The emotional reading didn't end there, and it didn't end with de Rossi.

Henry went on to do a reading with DeGeneres, too, but she chose to keep what he told her private, only saying, "He told me something that was probably one of the most important, profound things. And it's very, very personal, so I’m not sharing it, but ... it kind of just changed my life."
