Bret Michaels continues to make a strong recovery since suffering a subarachnoid hemorrhage last month, and Donald Trump, Michaels' boss on “The Celebrity Apprentice,” told Access Hollywood that the rocker is hoping to make it to the season finale.

“What he’s done is amazing,” Trump told Access Hollywood’s Tony Potts earlier this week. “He had, essentially, an explosion in his brain and he’s really doing better. He’s having a little bit of a difficult time, but he’s really doing better and I know one thing, I don’t know if it’s going to happen, but he wants to be — in two weeks — on the finale of ‘Celebrity Apprentice.’ He wants to be there.”

Fans of the show know that Michaels is actually still in the competition, which finished filming weeks ago, having thus far managed to survive several boardroom sessions. Also competing for the top prize of being crowned “The Celebrity Apprentice” are Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson-Peete, Maria Kanelis and Curtis Stone.

Trump said he wasn’t surprised that Michaels is doing so well in coming back from his hemorrhage as he realized early on how determined Michaels was while filming the challenges on the NBC show.

“He’s a real fighter,” Trump said. “He turned out to be a real fighter. I wasn’t sure about Bret when I first met him. I wasn’t sure. People had different thoughts. He’s turned out to be a highly competitive guy who everyone liked.”

“The Celebrity Apprentice” airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. on NBC.
