Pat Monahan, the lead singer of the popular band Train, always seems calm and collected on stage — and he says there's a reason for that.

"I meditate for a little bit before we perform," he told TODAY's Orange Room.

"I have a freak-out the night before I leave. I get mad at somebody," Monahan told TODAY, after singing the band's hits on the plaza. "The stress takes over and I try so hard to not talk, but I always get mad."

It's not as bad as it seems. Monahan says his typical rants include lines like: "These pancakes are cold!"
