Train frontman Pat Monahan's pre-tour ritual: 'I have a freak-out the night before'
Pat Monahan, the lead singer of the popular band Train, always seems calm and collected on stage — and he says there's a reason for that.
"I meditate for a little bit before we perform," he told TODAY's Orange Room.
So, that's the secret! His ritual before going on tour, however, is a little bit different — in fact, it's quite the opposite:

"I have a freak-out the night before I leave. I get mad at somebody," Monahan told TODAY, after singing the band's hits on the plaza. "The stress takes over and I try so hard to not talk, but I always get mad."
It's not as bad as it seems. Monahan says his typical rants include lines like: "These pancakes are cold!"
