Tom Hanks is no kid anymore, but he sure put a "Big" smile on our faces Wednesday by sharing a photo of himself as a young lad — and reminding us of one of his most lovable film roles.
The actor turned 58 years old and posted the black and white image on his Facebook and WhoSay pages. "Hanx," he wrote, after noting that it was his birthday, seeming to anticipate that thousands of fans would give it the ol' thumbs up.
The "Bosom Buddies" star who went on to become a two-time Academy Award winner has wowed us in a variety of film roles over the years, from rom-coms to riveting dramas. You no doubt remember "Forrest Gump," "Philadelphia," "Sleepless in Seattle," "Saving Private Ryan," "Toy Story," "Apollo 13," "Cast Away," "Captain Phillips" and many more.
And of course, there was "Big." The story of a man who wanted to be a boy again. On his birthday, here's hoping Hanks stays young at heart.
