Tom Hanks has become a real New Yorker: He rides the subway, and he goes to Rangers hockey games.

It's time someone rewarded that loyalty.

So they did, at Thursday's New York Rangers game. Hanks was captured on the Jumbotron and gave the kind of sheepish, "yeah, here I am" smile most any of us would. Then, from off-camera, someone tossed him a long-lost companion.

Yes! It was Wilson from Hanks' 2000 stranded-on-a-desert-island-with-only-a-volleyball-for-a-pal movie, "Cast Away"!

Cheered, the pair then began rooting for the home team ... together. Kinda chokes you up, doesn't it?
