Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra knew they weren't ready to be parents when she became pregnant while both were 16. Five years after making the difficult decision to place their child for adoption, the young couple is ready to start a family.

The "Teen Mom" star, now 22, shared the happy news about her second pregnancy on Instagram Wednesday, writing, "#it'sofficial #4months."

Lowell and Baltierra's first child, daughter Carly, joined an adoptive family immediately after her birth. MTV's cameras documented the couple's heartbreaking decision and handing their baby to the adoptive parents in the first season of the docuseries "16 and Pregnant."

Happily for all involved, the pair have stayed in touch with the adoptive parents and Carly, all of whom have appeared on "Teen Mom" for a few visits.

Lowell and Baltierra have traveled the country to talk to teens about adoption and the couple's positive experience with it. Lowell is studying to be a social worker, in the hopes of working with pregnant women who are struggling with adoption.

Lowell said in April that she and her fiance are now ready to be parents.

"We've learned from what our parents did wrong," she also told InTouch that month. "Tyler and I own our own home, have two cars and actually have money to support a kid."
