Pet peeve, cat-astrophe, meowza. Insert your favorite animal pun here. When Grammy Award-winning singer Taylor Swift's feline friend gets grumpy, innocent fashion pays the price.
When Swift, 24, tweeted about the attack on her gown on Monday before that evening's Costume Institute Gala in New York, fans found it ah-mewsing. More than 15,000 people favorited her tweet, and more than 7,500 retweeted it.
Swift didn't go into detail about how damaged the gown was, although she sent the tweet less than four hours before stars were expected to begin arriving at the event. And when she later showed up on the red carpet, her pink satin gown appeared intact.
Swift's cat, Meredith, is a Scottish fold named after Meredith Grey of "Grey's Anatomy," which the singer has said is her favorite show. Swift bought the cat on Halloween of 2011.
Meredith appears often on the singer's social-media accounts, "I take a lot of video of the cat," Swift told Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show, sharing a clip she dubbed "Cat Fail," which showed Meredith attempting to climb a couch pillow and toppling over.
