Steve Martin, Edie Brickell share inspiration for new musical 'Bright Star'

Comedy icon Steve Martin and singer-songwriter Edie Brickell have recorded two albums together and won a Grammy for their American roots music. Now they're teaming up a new Broadway musical, "Bright Star." Martin tells TODAY's Savannah Guthrie that the project was inspired by a true story Brickell unearthed, of a baby who survived being thrown from a train in a suitcase. "It was essentially a whim that expanded into eight years of our lives," Martin says.
