On Tuesday, KLG apologized for upsetting the queen of soul. But don't worry — it was all a chain chain chain of miscommunication.

On Monday, the ladies were chatting around the possibly of Aretha Franklin to replace J. Lo as a judge on "American Idol." While noting that this would obviously be incredible, Kathie Lee pointed out a few possible glitches. One, that Aretha doesn't like to fly, which might make those traveling casting shows difficult. Two, "If they're looking for a younger demographic," KLG said, "there are a lot of kids who actually don't know who Aretha Franklin is. It's sad, but they don't."

Apparently, Aretha was upset, because she emailed CNN, writing, "My audience and fans span the age of 8 to 90! And are multi-ethnic, and I am very well known to young adults, tweens and teens." Traveling wouldn't be an issue, since she has a sweet custom bus that gets her around, no problem.

Tuesday, KLG explained that's not what she meant — Aretha is obviously still relevant, it's just that kids can have short attention spans and questionable musical taste.

Let's hope this is all patched up. And as for 'Idol'? Aretha said she still wants the job.
