“Jersey Shore’s” Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi doesn’t believe in fad diets. When she wants to drop a few pounds, she just sticks to the basics. On Tuesday night, she stopped by “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” to share just what those weight loss fundamentals include.
“Pretty much motivation — going to the gym and watching what you drink, obviously, alcohol,” she explained.
But keep in mind, when Snooki says to watch the booze, she doesn’t mean don’t drink. Perish the thought! She simply recommends avoiding the mixers.
“It sucks, but no Long Islands or margaritas when you drink. It has to be straight vodka,” she said.
Polizzi worried about her diet when she and the rest of the “Shore” gang went to Italy to film the current season, but as it turned out, maintaining her gym-n-drink weight loss plan wasn’t a problem.
“Honestly, eating the pastas there was kind of like eating salad here in America,” she assured. “It was, like, so fresh and healthy. … None of us gained a pound.”
Which meant Snooki would have been sporting a trim dancer’s figure had she joined “Dancing With the Stars” this season, as some rumors indicated. Now that the Snooki-free cast has been announced, the reality TV star was happy to explain why she wasn’t part of it.
“All the rumors and stuff, they’re like Snooki’s going to be on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ — they never asked me,” she said. “Not once did they come up.”
Not that she would have taken the ballroom powers-that-be up on their offer. As it turns out, she was too busy with “products coming out” to hoof it for now. But she added, “In the future, I definitely want to dance!”
