'The Slap' asks viewers: Is it ever OK to discipline someone else's child?

NBC's "The Slap" premieres Thursday night, and its premise already has people talking.

Based on a novel with the same title, the show revolves around one moment at a backyard barbecue — when a man slaps a child who is not his own — that changes everyone's lives.
