'Sesame Street' spoofs 'When Harry Met Sally' in hilarious video

Cookie Monster must learn a lesson in patience, and hilarity ensues.

Cookie Monster and a Muppet reminiscent of Meg Ryan's title character from the 1989 rom-com "When Harry Met Sally" test each other's patience in a new "Sesame Street" parody, "When Cookie Met Sally."

In the five-minute video posted to YouTube on Wednesday, Cookie Monster captures the very essence of Billy Crystal's Harry Burns (well, sort of) as the puppet version of Sally Albright repeatedly tries to teach Cookie clever ways to pass the time while waiting in line at a deli. And because "Sesame Street" always finds a way to wink at adult viewers who are pop-culture savvy, there's also a G-rated nod to the movie's most famous deli scene — and equally memorable follow-up punch line.

And then, of course, there are the little details, like matching the title-card font of "When Harry Met Sally," and the deli-wall head shots of Muppet celebrities, including Guy Smiley and more than one photo of Richard Belzer's Muppet counterpart in "Law & Order: Special Letters Unit."

Can't get enough "Sesame Street" parodies of films and TV shows? Check out its hilarious takes on "The Avengers," "Jurassic World," "Game of Thrones" and "House of Cards."
