If this is an author's portrait for Lena Dunham's new book jacket, it looks like a jacket will be missing — and pants for that matter.
The 27-year-old star and creator of the HBO series "Girls" shared new photographs on Instagram this week showing herself posing for photographer Autumn de Wilde. Dunham wears a pair of high-waisted, leopard-print knickers and a cropped top. Her caption reads: "(Because) serious authors need serious photos."
A color photograph catches her alongside stylist Shirley Kurata.
A third image shows Dunham and her dog, Lamby, cuddling on a bed.
On "Girls," Dunham — in character as aspiring writer Hannah Horvath — is known for a sense of style that includes ill-fitting outfits and little-to-no clothing at all in many episodes. The third season of the Golden Globe winning series is currently airing on HBO on Sundays at 10 p.m. ET.
Her book, "Not That Kind of Girl," is due out Oct. 7.
