Are you ready for President Roseanne Barr? Well, ready or not, the star of "Roseanne's Nuts" plans to run for the highest office in the land.
During a Thursday night visit to "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno," the former self-proclaimed domestic goddess made her big announcement.
"You know, Jay. I decided that since you’re the one who got Arnold Schwarzenegger elected as governor of California, that I wanted to make my announcement here on your show," she said. "My announcement is that I am running for president of the United States."
After much cheering and a heavy dose of red, white and blue confetti, Barr added, "And also prime minister of Israel — it’s a twofer.”
But lest anyone think that the comedienne was simply going for laughs, she set the record straight.
“I’m totally serious,” she explained. “‘Cause I want to be part of the debates, because I want to represent the tax payer. In fact, I’m choosing the tax payers as my vice president.”
