Who hasn't been there? You're at a party, in the middle of a conversation, and you're desperately trying to come up with a polite way to excuse yourself and heed the call of nature. So what do you say?

According to a Miss Manners column, its impolite to give any more detail than "excuse me" -- but Kathie Lee and Hoda were divided over this advice.

KLG doesn't like it when people announce that they "have to use the restroom," because "nobody goes in the restroom to 'rest.'" She thinks telling your companions that you've got to hit the facilities is too much fodder for the imagination.

But Hoda disagreed -- she said that if someone just wandered off in the middle of a conversation, she'd want to know where they were going.

Well, Hoda is a journalist. But it's more likely she favors mentioning nature's call because pretending like she has to use the bathroom is her preferred method of slipping out of a party.

"Whenever I say I have to go to the restroom, it means I'm leaving," she admitted.

"Why don't you just say the truth, which is, 'I'm bored to death and I'm out of here?'" said Kathie Lee.

Look out, Miss Manners, KLG is gunning for your job.
