Did Nicole Richie take that phrase “shop until you drop” too seriously?
The super-skinny reality show star reportedly fainted while doing a little retail therapy. Richie — who has admitted that she’s too thin but has denied that she has an eating disorder — collapsed while browsing at Kitson, a chic LA boutique, on July 15, according to Life & Style.
“She was looking through a rack of clothes when she suddenly fainted and hit the floor,” an “eyewitness” told the mag. “The staff helped her to a chair and offered her something to eat. She shot back, ‘No!’ and mumbled something about it being ‘so hot.’” Although Richie turned away food, she did accept a glass of water, reports the mag, and after about 20 minutes “was steady enough to leave.”
Richie’s rep couldn’t be reached for comment, but a spokeswoman for the store denies the incident.
Tangled up in blueDemi Moore scandalized some royal watchers by attending a lavish costume ball for Princess Beatrice — and changing into jeans half way through the event.
Beatrice, the daughter of the Duke and Dutchess of York, had an elegant masked ball, estimated to cost more than $725,000, at Windsor Castle celebrating her 18th birthday. The three hundred guests — who included assorted lords and ladies as well as celebs such as Elton John and model Elle Macpherson — were asked to dress in period costumes from 1888 (Beatrice was born in August, 1988).
Moore showed up in a stunning, white Victorian ball gown but mid-party, she snuck away to slip into something more comfortable. “She went upstairs to change, then she came back a few minutes later in a black T-shirt, jeans and black pumps,” a source told the London Mirror, which reports that Moore ditched the gown because she wanted to boogie nimbly with her hubby, Ashton Kutcher. “No one else saw fit to change their outfits, and most people who saw Demi before and after thought it showed a thorough lack of respect to the hosts,” one guest huffed to the paper. “You wouldn't even wear jeans to go to a decent nightclub — let alone a royal residence.”
Notes from all overKabbalah-loving celebs such as Moore and Madonna tout the healing powers of Kabbalah Water, but it looks like at least one leader of the controversial group promotes something a little more potent. Gilla Mogilevsky, the Australian head of the controversial group, was arrested and charged with possessing more than $2 million worth of marijuana, according to various reports from down under. ... Meanwhile, Madonna has been spotted without her Kabbalah red string, fueling buzz that she’s cooling on the group. ... Luke Wilson thinks he needs a psychiatrist. Or maybe not. “My style is to think, Yeah, I really need to go see somebody, and then not do it, and then get over it and think, You know what? I’m okay! I actually saved some money! I just had to ride out the storm! But I don’t see how it can’t help to talk to somebody who’s not a friend,” the “My Super Ex-Girlfriend” star tells the August issue of Elle magazine. “It’s one of those things I’m interested in and I know it could help. I just think, ‘How do I find somebody who’s good and takes Screen Actors Guild insurance?’”
