Tom Cruise is not holding anything back when asked his feelings about his new girlfriend, Katie Holmes.
“I love this woman. She’s magnificent!” he said in his exclusive Access Hollywood interview with Billy Bush, which begins airing Monday and continues through Thursday.
Dating now for about a month, Tom chose the romantic city of Rome to unveil his new relationship to the world.
Tom admits he was not a regular viewer of “Dawson’s Creek,” the WB show that first brought Katie a lot of public attention.
“But I’ve known, you see, that this woman is talented,” he said. “I’ve always seen how talented she was. I've seen her in her films and I've seen “Dawson’s Creek” and I’ve seen her work. And you go, ‘Man, that girl is really talented.’ How it occured I’m going to keep for myself.”
Asked why he’s chosen to go very public with his new relationship, Tom said, “I’m not going to hide it. I am so happy and I am not going to pretend or hide it or be shy. This woman is magnificent! I got to tell ya, this woman is magnificent and I’m having the best time, Billy, and I’m really, really, really happy. And I can’t contain it. And I’m not going to pretend. I’m not going to pretend.”
When something magical like this happens in a new relationship, Tom said, “It’s just like, “Huh? Wow, man. Wow. I was looking at her (and thinking), ‘Man, you are so cool.’ We go scuba diving together. She likes all this stuff that I love to do. She’s funny and smart.”
