The New York Yankees took a break from spring training to flex their acting muscles and re-create a memorable scene from the 1993 baseball movie "The Sandlot."

WATCH: Yankees recreate scene from "The Sandlot"

Brett Gardner is arguably the video's breakout star, channeling the character of Scotty Smalls, who gets an earful for using an autographed Babe Ruth baseball in a pick-up game. Who knew Gardner had such range as both an outfielder and as a thespian?

Gardner's teammates — Dellin Betances, Jacoby Ellsbury, Didi Gregorius, Chase Headley, Brian McCann and C.C. Sabathia — co-star as other members of the "Sandlot" gang.

Did they hit a home run? Should we expect an episode of "Inside the Actors Studio" to be filmed at Yankee Stadium this season? Compare the Yankees' version to the original scene below.
