New CW campaign wants you to catch 'VD'

Have you seen the latest ads from The CW? To the non-fan, it may seem the network popular for its edgy teen dramas may want you to catch a nasty bug or two.

Relax. It's actually an ad campaign for the series "The Vampire Dairies," which returns on Jan. 27.

A network rep said in a statement to, " 'VD' simply stands for 'Vampire Diaries,' and anyone who thinks otherwise should probably get themselves checked out."

The posters popped up on Sunset Boulevard and Times Square, according to, who was the first to get the exclusive. (The website also has the images of the ads on location.)
